The Blorg System
Because fuck it, I'm sick up coming up with version numbers.
The idea:
- 5e compatible
- Class-based
- Some universal mechanics
- Multiclassing allowed, but strong hybridization possible
Notes
What does each build type need to be powerful?
- Everyone needs numbers
- Clothies need spells, everything else is optional (upgrades and bindings are better than feats and class abilities)
- Fighters need maneuvers. Talents are nice, but mainly for hybrids
- Enhanced need super numbers and powerful talents
- Hybrids need some maneuvers and some spells
- Everybody needs their basic skills. Nobody really needs any others, since skills suck
What problems are hybrids having? In 5eA, it's mostly a problem with spell level. It makes sense that Kaine has fewer spells known than Aurora, and less mana than Zelena, but it'd be nice if he wasn't stuck in lowbie land for utility.
How do you empower hybrids without unbalancing the game?
- Not as many spell levels--easier to access high level effects, but cost-prohibitive for hybrids due to mana cost
There's another problem with multiclassing: talent and stat add progression needs to be different (enhanced > fighter > magic-user), but it's messy when you multiclass. Ideas?
- Each class either gets 2 talents per level or 1 talent and 2 maneuvers/spells
- Depending on class, you can cash in talents for stat adds. Different classes have different talents, and some are better than others
Progression types
Different progression types:
- Class
- BP
- Talent
- Skill
Let's explore the latter two.

Class Options
What if classes, but options?
- Casters can choose a maneuver instead of a spell
